Colorado vs Ranger: Performance

Chevy Colorado Off-Road Performance The 2019 Chevy Colorado offers three powerful engines in its powertrain lineup starting with the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. Switch this engine out for the available 3.6L V6 engine or the GM-exclusive Duramax® 2.8-L Turbo-Diesel engine.

The available V6 engine offers 308 best-in-class horsepower, which allows the Colorado to tow up to 7,000 pounds1 with it. The Duramax® engine, on the other hand, produces a whopping 369 lb-ft of best-in-class torque while still achieving a best-in-class EPA-estimated 20 city/30 highway MPG2.

As for the 2019 Ford Ranger, you’ll only have one engine to choose from. Unfortunately, this 2.3L EcoBoost® turbocharged 4-cylinder engine maxes out at 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Colorado vs Ranger: Technology

The 2019 Chevy Colorado isn’t just powerful and efficient—it’s also tech-savvy. This model offers a multifaceted Chevrolet Infotainment System that combines an 8-inch HD touchscreen display with a wide range of helpful features.

This system support smartphone app integration via Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and also offers standard Bluetooth® connectivity. You can also opt for an available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot to ensure that you stay connected while you’re on the go.

The 2019 Ford Ranger also offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Though you’ll still have Bluetooth® and smartphone app integration, you’ll miss out on the Wi-Fi Hotspot, as this model does not offer it in any trim level.

Colorado vs Ranger: Safety

Chevy Colorado Interior Safety Features Safety is a top priority, whether you’re on the worksite or off on a weekend adventure. To keep you and your loved ones safe and confident on the road, the 2019 Chevy Colorado is equipped with a number of advanced safety features.

In the Colorado, you’ll be able to rely on a standard Rear Vision Camera, as well as several other available active safety features, including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Park Assist. These features use advanced exterior sensors to keep tabs on your surroundings at all times, and they’ll let you know of any potential collisions, so you can react in time.

The 2019 Ford Ranger also offers a couple of active safety features, including a Lane Keeping System and Collision Assist system that are similar to the ones you’ll find in the Colorado. However, you’ll miss out on the helpful Rear Park Assist.
